When people learn that I'm working in a production company,
"dabbling" with tv dramas and theatre work,
they ASSUMED ,
"Eh, so you work in MediaCorp lah?"
When I politely said, "No, I work at Farrer Park...",
they ASSUMED again,
"Oh, near MediaCorp right?"
Tell me about it.
And when my grandmas asked me what will I do when I graduate,
I struggled with my Hokkein and told them, (loosely translated)
"I make television."
My paternal side grandma understood it by saying,
"Oh, the report news one eh? So you are going to report news in the future lah? Very well paid eh... More news, more pay."
My materal side grandma understood it by saying,
"Television? So you will report news? Why want to work as this? Very tedious. Should be a teacher. Easier. "
Ah, I wondered, I've come so far, and still there are people who opposed to it.
And with 3 more weeks of ITP, it means I have 3 more weeks before I officially turn Year 3.
That is freakin' fast.
How I wish I can just work from here, start to take on freelance jobs, build contacts, and work with people who wants to work with me now....
Why must I return to school to complete my course in order to get a Diploma?
Why must I learn Media Law and MASINA?
Tsk. I'm at work now, blogging.
This says it all, no?
My "much-envied" work life.
Probably not, afterall.
